Dialysis is a treatment that is given to patients when the kidneys are no longer functioning.

There are 2 types of dialysis treatments

HEMODIALYSIS:

Hemodialysis is a type of dialysis treatment which makes patient’s blood travel through a tube in a dialysis machine. Most patients need to have hemodialysis 3 times/week at  a dialysis center. Each session may last upto three to four hours.

PERITONEAL DIALYSIS:

Peritoneal dialysis is type of dialysis that uses the inside lining of the abdomen ( peritoneum) to filter the blood. This type of dialysis is done at home on a daily basis.

HOME DIALYSIS is the Option of 1st Choice Whenever Possible

This can be done by hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis.
